Supporting Junior Doctors

Public NHS

Our NHS is the most effective public service that we have ever created.

But competition has poisoned it and privatisation is eroding it bit by bit.

That’s why we need to take the profit motive out of healthcare and restore a public NHS that will last for generations to come. We will:

  • Fight for a publicly funded, publicly provided health service free at the point of use.

  • End the creeping privatisation of the NHS and repeal the Health and Social Care Act 2012.

  • Make mental health a much higher priority with resources to match this status.

SUPPORTING JUNIOR DOCTORS IN THEIR CAMPAIGN TO GET JUSTICE – AT THE HIGH COURT TODAY AND TOMORROW: Jeremy Hunt, the Secretary of State for Health (SOS) intends to impose the disputed contract on all junior doctors in England from October 5th 2016. NHS frontline staff and academics have rejected this contract as it is considered unsafe, unsustainable and undeliverable.

The Save Lewisham Hospital Campaign is dismayed and angry at the news that Greenwich CCG has turned down a Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust bid for musculoskeletal (MSK) services and instead awarded them to a private contractor with a poor track record – Circle. This of course has a direct effect on the financial stability of Lewisham and Greenwich Trust and therefore of LEWISHAM HOSPITAL. (Circle’s medical director Massoud Keyvan-Fouladi is married to Dr Rebecca Rosen — a member of the Greenwich CCG and a GP in the south-east London area!)
